MUSCARDINE

Muscardine is highly effective natural occurring entomopathogenic fungus that parasites several insects of crops, Beauveria bassiana infects all stages of insect, including eggs, larvae, pupae, grubs, nymphs, hoppers and adult. The spores attached to insect cuticle, germinate and penetrate into the insect body. The hypahe through enzymes action, proliferate insect body and cause mortality through a combination of chemical, mechanical, water loss and nutrient loss effects. The insect body ultimately gets covered with white mycelium and spores. Certain toxins are produced by this fungus and cause the mortality of insect

Muscardine is a high potency bioinsecticide based Beauvaria bassiana working with broad spectrum activities against sucking pests and caterpillars. It exerts chitin inhibition on insects’ cuticle. As soon as the caterpillars and sucking pests come into the contacts with Muscardine, it starts proliferating on insects, inhibits chitin synthesis and kills the target insects’ bodies. Noticeably, Muscardine fungus grows rigorously on insects and forms mummies which spread disease epizootic among insects appearing at later stages. This makes sprays effective and cross-infective for longer period, thereby reduces the cost significantly.
